Darren Turner will be helping the Police with their enquiries on Monday 28 November when he takes part in the launch of Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Constabulary’s month long Christmas crack down on drink and drug driving.
The Police will reissue the film they made with Darren last year to again highlight the dangers of drinking and driving. In the film Darren takes to the Monaco Grand Prix track after a few too many shandies to demonstrate that it is no laughing matter to be behind the wheel but not in full control. It’s all legal though as Darren is driving in a simulator at Base Performance.
Also attending the launch in Thatcham, Berksire, will be Head of Joint Operations Unit for Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Constabulary, Supt Chris Brown and Inspector Colin Clark who is in charge of running the campaign in the Thames Valley.
“The experiment we did last year started out as a bit of fun,” said Darren. “But I soon realised it wasn’t funny when my reactions were impaired by the alcohol. It also made the rest of my working day tricky too as I had to go and have a nap! I’m looking forward to seeing the Inspector again and I will absolutely not be speeding on my way there.”
