Double Le Mans winner, Darren Turner has raced to third place in class at the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours. Despite fighting incredibly hard for the lead throughout the closing stages of the race, victory slipped from his grasp of the No.97 Aston Martin Racing crew.
Along with his long-time team-mate Stefan Mucke and long-time friend Peter Dumbreck, Darren took the podium finish after a physically and emotionally draining 24 hours of racing.
Darren dedicated the result to fellow Aston Martin racer Allan Simonsen who tragically lost his life just a few laps into the race.
“It has been an emotional weekend,” said Darren. “Nobody could have ever predicted it would start as it did. My thoughts are entirely with Allan, his family and all the mates he made around the world during his racing career.”
